Reading Isaac Asimov

I can remember the first time I encountered novels by Isaac Asimov, I would have been about 13 years old and we had moved to a new house in north Birmingham and my new next door neighbours had a fantastic library of books that I had never encountered before. I had been reading my normal diet of gentle science fiction that may have included Dr Who books and some general fantasy novels but had never been exposed to some of the classic science fiction novels from earlier eras.

One of the first  authors that I started to read was Isaac Asimov and this included the robot series and the epic Foundation trilogy. I think I enjoyed the exploration of the logical paradoxes that the robot stories examined including the three laws of robotics and the complexities of how these laws mapped out to the real world.
